ADIF conversion

59+ Converter supports ADIF format. You can easily import and export ADIF files. 59+ Converter also allows you to set filters for exported and imported records in the configuration dialog.

The most important thing to know about ADIF conversion in 59+ Log is the bands and modes mapping. ADIF format declares a set of predefined strings for operating with bands and modes. In 59+ Log however you can freely change dictionary tables and even create new records. To provide compatibility with ADIF format 59+ Log internally maintains two ADIF tables for bands and modes. Default dictionary files that come with installation contain unchanged ADIF values. You can modify strings in the dictionary tables freely as they will be replaced by values retrieved from the internal tables during ADIF import and export operations. However if you change the meaning of dictionary tables it may result in an incorrect translation of exported and imported records and would lead to confusion. For example, it is ok to change a dictionary value from the default "40m" to "7.0MHz"; changing default "CW" to, say, "SSB" would lead to an incorrect ADIF interpretation of the values since the meaning of the records will be different.

The following lists show default ADIF values for both bands and modes.

You can always overwrite your changed values by importing default internal tables of bands and modes from EXAMPLE.DIC that comes with the installation. For the complete list of files that are included in the installation disk follow this link.

Be careful when using 59+ Converter. If you occasionally overwrite a database you would not be able to restore it. We recommend using backup copies of most important databases in 59+ Log.
