Basic grid control
All grid windows in 59+ Log
are derived from the basic grid and inherit its functionality. The basic grid supports sending and
receiving data using the clipboard (cut and paste), loading and saving
blocks of cells to a file, converting data to the text format, customizable colors,
fonts and other features.
You can use the mouse,
keyboard or context menus to work with the grid. Menu items of the grid menus
depend on the type of the grid you work with. Functions described below belong
to the basic grid functionality and are inherited by all 59+ Log grids.
Selecting blocks
You can select blocks of
cells using the mouse in the grid area or by clicking on the horizontal button
bar at the top of the grid. Click on the vertical button bar to select whole
rows. After a group of cells is selected you can start using operations on
blocks.
Working with blocks
You can copy, paste and
delete blocks using context menus or hot keys (a list of all grids context menus
and hotkeys is given below). When you are overwriting existing cells by copying
a block or by pasting data from the clipboard you will be asked to confirm your
action.

You can also save the active
block by selecting “Save block” menu item from the block context menu. You
will be asked to specify location for the block save file (default file
extension is “*.BLK”)

“Save
block” dialog box
Use “Load block” menu
to load a block from the disk.
Copying data between
windows applications
It is possible to copy a
group of cells from 59+ Log to any other windows application that can
communicate with the clipboard (Microsoft Word, Notepad, WordPad etc).
Follow these steps to
perform the task:
1.
Select a block as described above
2.
Copy the block to the clipboard by
selecting “Copy” command from block context menu or by pressing Ctrl+C
3. Switch to another windows application
4.
Press Ctrl+V or Shift+Ins or select
“Paste” command from the main menu
Resizing columns
Press the left mouse button
on a line that separates any two columns in the horizontal button bar (the
horizontal button bar has letters in each column starting with “A”). Do not
release the mouse and start dragging the column line. The left column will
resize while all columns to the right of the column separator will move. To
resize both the left and right column keep pressing SHIFT key while dragging the
column line.

To
recalculate column widths press Ctrl-“+” or double click on any column
separator. |
Find and replace

search engine you can use
