59+ Log online help

PARSER

The parser keeps track of existing and deleted DXCC territories. To parse a call sign the parser uses current or explicitly set date.

Here is an example:

JZ0AA worked on January 1, 1964 will be parsed as Netherlands New Guinea

JZ0AA worked on January 1, 2001 will be parsed as Indonesia

Explanation: Netherlands New Guinea as an amateur radio territory existed until May 1st, 1963. All radio stations operating from Netherlands New Guinea used “JZ0” prefix. JZ0 stations worked after 1st of May, 1963 are from Indonesia.

The database of prefixes, territories and dates is stored together with 59+ Log QSO database in a single file (*.59L). Award values are not saved on the hard disc and are recalculated each time the DB is loaded during the log start-up. This minimizes the size of the database and maintains award values consistency.

On the contrary values explicitly set by the user are marked with a special color and are stored in a database file. You can always mark them as “calculated” by recalculating them in any grid. For more information on 59+ Log database, main log and award manager follow the links at the bottom of the page.

The database used for creation of the lookup tables and calculation modules is available for download from hamradio.idealog.net.
