QSO Edit dialog

This dialog gives you an easy user interface for editing QSO records in the log’s database. Any dialog’s control can be added, removed or replaced. The dialog itself can be resized. See 59+ Log dialog editor for further details.

QSO edit dialog configured for entering most award values

QSO edit dialog configured for pile-ups
(controls hidden or repositioned)

The Edit dialog is registered in the internal broadcast system of the log and it automatically updates its contents as you change active DB cursor, add or remove QSOs. Also if you change a QSO the changes will be reflected in all windows registered with the broadcast system. For instance, changing a call sign will make the award manager refresh award values (DXCC, IOTA etc), update look up tables and recalculate award totals causing all dependent registered windows to update their contents.

Available controls

·          “Date” control - Press down arrow of the control to enter a date using the standard Win32 DateTimePicker control or use the edit box to type in the date

·          “Time” edit box

·          “Call” edit box

·          “Band” combo box

·          “Mode” combo box

·          “RS(T) sent” and “RS(T) rcvd” edit boxes

·          “QSL sent” and “QSL rcvd” check boxes

·          “Operator” combo box

·          “Award” combo boxes - most awards values are edited using combo boxes. The award manager creates special lookup tables for editing award values. All combo boxes contain the list of valid values for a given award plus “…” string. If you select the string a look up dialog will appear showing all values for the award.

·          Notes edit box - press CTRL+Enter if you want to insert a new line or divide an existing one.

·          Configuration buttons: “Edit”, “<<” and “>>” - ”Edit” button starts the dialog editor. “Previous” and “Next” buttons change saved configurations.

You might want to use them in a situation when you have several configurations for different operation modes (contest, IOTA hunting, DXCC etc) and want to quickly switch between the modes “Prev” and “Next” buttons can be disabled. Their state depends on whether or not you have several configurations defined.

Header’s popup menu

You can also use a popup menu, which will appear if you right click on the dialog’s header. The following menu items are available:

·          Standard Win32 menu items (“Move” and “Close”)

·          “Launch editor” will start the editor.

·          “Next config.” and “Previous config.” menu items will allow you to switch to next saved configuration. This menu item can be disabled if you have only one saved configuration. To enable it open the dialog editor, create new configuration and save it by pressing OK button before leaving the editor.

QSO Edit dialog shortcuts

·          ALT+E - Show dialog editor

·          ALT+N - Next configuration

·          ALT+P - Previous configuration

·          Global hotkeys are available as everywhere

·          Standard Win32 dialog hotkeys (TAB, Shift-TAB, Escape etc)
The only exception is the Enter key. Instead of closing the dialog it changes the focus from the active control to another one which is next in the predefined TAB order (similar to TAB)

To open QSO Edit Dialog

·          Press Ctrl+E anytime during program execution

·          Press button of the "Log DB" toolbar
